In 2009, Des Erasmus, started a company called Picture Cars, which has now become Cars 4 Camera based in beautiful Cape Town, Cars 4 Camera’s focus is to enhance the smoothness of your production.

The Initial motivation of Remy Julien’s influence on Des was due to the movie, the original 1966/7 ‘The Italian Job’, as a young boy at the age of 6, this left an indelible mark on him. Des later worked with Remy Julien again 40 years later in 2007.  He started in the production industry as a teenager appearing in TV commercials. It was after an accident on stage in the 80’s, for Pieter Toerien’s production of Equus, resulting in a broken foot, which led to Erasmus starting Cinemobiles. Due to his inability to audition for any productions, and his discovery of a need for picture vehicle supply to the industry, he decided to see what he could do armed with only a camera and an extensive knowledge, driven by his passion for cars and film.

Today, with decades of experience it all comes together to facilitate research, co- ordinating, sourcing, transportation, construct, restore, customise, modify, paint, camouflage, peel coating, vinyl covering, driving to bring an smooth operation offering camera ready picture cars. With a network of owners, car dealers, film car suppliers nationwide, Cars 4 Camera can facilitate. Cars 4 Camera supply prop cars, film vehicles, auto props, film cars or picture vehicles.

Where it all began: 1969 the Orange Lamborghini Muira on the Italian Alps and the 3 iconic minis. Followed with The Black Karmann Ghia Hot Rod – my first try at modifying and hot rodding in 1985.
